We are living in a time such a wonderful and special time. We are seeing biblical prophecy being fulfilled all around us. We are seeing things that Jesus mentioned to His disciples coming to pass. The birth pangs of this world are increasing as even nature is crying out for the redemption of the land and the return of Jesus. What are we supposed to do? For one we are not supposed to be afraid. Jesus says for us to look up and rejoice for our redemption draws near.
That doesn't mean we sit back and do nothing. We as believers were never called to sit back and be complacent, tolerant, and lazy to the times. No, according to James 1:22 NASB it says, "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves."
That word delude according to the Webster dictionary is defined as misleading, deceiving, or tricking the mind. So, we are deceiving ourselves if we say I believe, and I hear the word, but I do not have to live according to the word, or I do not need to be an example of the word. That is so wrong on so many fronts, but it is what we hear today in messages that are being taught. We are seeing ear tickling messages that have no meat, growth, or direction behind them. These messages are not helping the body of Christ become doers of the word by challenging them to get out and be examples of the kingdom. No, it is teaching believers to be lazy which is not what we are called to do.
We are called to be examples of the Kingdom of Heaven which means we need to live according to the word of God. Jesus was our example, and He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us, teach us, and guide us. The Holy Spirit loves to be invited to go to work. He loves for us to step out and walk in faith to trust Him when He tells us to go. When we decide to be examples and doers we will see greater signs, wonders, and miracles.
The enemy says it is o.k. not to step out, it is o.k. to live like the world, it is o.k. to curse, get drunk, do drugs, and look at porn. It is o.k. the enemy likes to say. Contrary to much belief it is not o.k. to walk like the world and call yourself a believer at the same time. The purpose of being a doer of the word is spiritual growth, victory against the enemy, being an example to those we are around, and spreading the gospel of Jesus to those who are in bondage.
We were never called to be like the world, but we were called to be set apart from the world. Now is the time that God is calling us to be doers of the word and be examples of His kingdom here on earth. It is going to take us to find our heavenly identity again, then stepping out, and be the example a lost and dying generation needs. Being a doer will see the harvest of souls unlike we have ever seen before.
Let us pray,
Heavenly Father, we come before You know in the name of Jesus. Father I(we) repent right now of any complacency, tolerance, and laziness in my life. I (we) repent of not being doers of the word and ask for Your forgiveness. Strengthen me, Holy Spirit, to be a doer of the word, and not just a believer getting by. I want to see more, do more, and witness more in my life. Help me live each day as an example to those around me. Give me the boldness needed to step out and represent the kingdom of God with honor, dignity, purity, and righteousness. I thank you Father for helping me, delivering me, and calling on me to do more for the kingdom of Heaven. Victory is mine; Strength is mine, boldness is mine, and I will see great exploits for the kingdom of heaven happen in my life.
In Jesus Name Amen.
God bless you. May He keep you, stregthen you, and equip you to stand the times.
Till Next Time,
Pastor Eric Schroeder
