I always love this time of year. We see spring, and we begin to see the flowers come into bloom, the grass comes alive with new growth, and the trees begin to put forth leaves. Everything becomes alive once again after the dormant season of winter.
Everytime the Easter season comes around, I sit and I am amazed at the redemption that happened upon that cross. We were all dead to sin, our lives were dormant, with no life in them. Then Jesus came and died upon that cross, and He was buried, but in 3 days He rose with the keys of death, hell, and the grave in His hand. For those that believe, and call upon the name of Jesus will begin to see life blossom in them. They begin to grow, bloom, and see new life, they litterly become alive in Him.
There is something about that cross, that Jesus hung from over 2000 years ago. That cross was a connecting point between heaven and the earth. It was the only way that God could once again connect with His creation, and walk with them once again. Jesus is the connection beween us and the Father.
John 14:6 NASB Jesus says no one can come to the Father except through Me.
Without Jesus we can't have a relationship with the Father. Without Jesus our lives would be miserable and we would not have the chance for eternal life. We all would be sentanced to death for all eternity.
This time of year should open our eyes to the fact that there are people out there today that have not made the choice to follow Jesus. They are lost, miserable, and have a death sentance upon their head. We have been called to share the gospel, and to go after the lost.
Easter should be a reminder to us, to break out of the complacent life, and start going after the harvest. I always say there are people out there who are waiting to have an encounter with Jesus, and they are also waiting on you to bring that encounter to them.
Let us take the time this year, and be a blessing to someone who needs it. You never know who you might affect in a way that they accept Jesus into their life.
God Bless You All,
Pastor Eric
